With a shared passion for helping others, they recognized that many residents simply didn’t know about programs like CalFresh or Medi-Cal. This insight sparked the creation of Gear Up Give Back, a vehicle-donation program designed to address this gap.
By leveraging the resource of donated cars, the founders created a sustainable model to fund a free benefits-research service that would assist fellow residents in accessing the essential programs they deserve. The initiative started with just a handful of donations, but it’s grown tremendously since then, becoming a lifeline for families across Modesto, including areas like Downtown, West Modesto, and Empire.
